What Makes “The Handy Man V2” Hands-On? – The choice between 2 different types of water culture hydroponic systems!

Growing with the Wilma Hydroponic System: The Wilma recirculating drip water culture feed systems are one of our most popular hydroponic systems. Wilma Systems use a re-circulating hydroponic drip-feed system that can be used with a variety of growing media. For simplicity and the best results, we always recommend using clay pebbles with the Wilma pots. Clay pebbles ensure the roots of your plants get plenty of aeration to encourage growth. They also limit the maintenance of adapting these systems for absorbent media like soil (which often requires a set-up with a separate nutrient tank).

Growing with the Oxy Pot Hydroponic System: Oxypot DWC (Deep Water Culture) systems submerge the roots of the plant in a highly oxygenated nutrient solution, encouraging very rapid growth. The plants are placed in a mesh pot containing pebbles and the roots hang down into the growing chamber which contains an air pump that continually oxygenates the nutrient solution. Rarely is something so effective so simple to use. Deep Water Culture (DWC) has quickly become popular because there’s no timer, very little media and the root growth is exceptional. Oxypots have some great features that are proving popular with growers, the emptying tube makes it easy to check the solution level and to complete solution changes, the removable mesh basket enables growers to turn the plant for even light exposure and the locators keeps the air pump firmly in place.

The Handy Man is a fully complete & most importantly balanced hydroponic grow kit!

Unlike other kits, we have made sure that The Handy Man is a truly complete kit, we don't offer overpriced and underperforming kits. The Handy Man comes with either a Lumatek 1000W/400V Digital Ballast & Lumatek 1000W/400V DE HPS Lamp or an Digi-Lumen 600W Full Spectrum LED offering plenty of quality light to light up your Homebox Ambient Heavy Duty Grow Tent.

Ventilation must be balanced with the size of your rig, The Handy Man V2 is supplied with adequate quality ventilation from Phresh Hyperfans offering the latest in EC extraction fan technology. We have paired the Phresh Hyperfan with the Phresh Carbon Filters to scrub and remove unwanted smells coming from within the grow tent. We have also included a Breezin’ Oscillating Clip Fan to simulate wind and freshen the air.

Data is important in any hydroponic set up, we provide a Baldr Wireless Thermometer/Hygrometer that collects temperature and humidity levels over each 24-hour period to ensure all environmental parameters are within check.

The hydroponic system is up to you! Both DWC (Oxypot) and Recirculating Drip (Wilma) are classified as water culture hydroponic methods. Depending on the kit you choose, you may not need some parts that the other kit requires. For example, the Wilma systems will need the Mojocow Digital Timer to control your irrigation times, while the DWC option does not require feeding times as it's always in nutrient solution. The Wilma system also needs significantly more clay balls. Be sure to check the itemized lists to know exactly what comes with each variant.
